In a world of publicly held agricultural corporations, some of whom do not even own a tree, Howard and Jeremy Meltzer, the father and son team from Melbourne, have created a specially blended oil strictly from the handpicked fruit off their family farm. With only 3000 liters a year coming from their grove – a tiny amount in the olive oil world - this is a strictly Limited Release EVOO.
After the olives are handpicked by the extended family and cold pressed within 12 hours, Jeremy carefully blends their Corregiola, Manzanillo, Leccino and Picual oils.
But how does it taste?
Yellingbo Gold Limited Release has a fresh, almost intoxicating aroma of sun-ripened tomatoes and sweet apples, which leads to a rich and creamy palate redolent of nuts and caramel. With a subtle, lingering peppery finish, this is a wonderfully fragrant and complex extra virgin olive oil.”

Yellingbo Gold (Green Label) EVOO has been available in Manhattan for the last 18 months and has surprised this fledgling father and son operation, with the recurrence and size of re-orders.
At the last Fancy Food Show in San Francisco this January, Wholefoods buyers approached Jeremy and told him they wanted to bring both Yellingbo Gold oils into all their Southern Californian and North Eastern stores. Yellingbo Gold is now the only Australian EVOO to be accepted into these Wholefoods Markets.
The region of Yellingbo, Victoria is also home to the Helmeted Honeyeater, an endangered bird whose last known habitat is the Yellingbo Conservation Reserve. As there are only 30 pairs left in Australia and they occasionally glide through the Meltzer's olive grove, so they grace the Yelllingbo bottle, in the dot-painting style of the Australian Aboriginals.
